2008: After a tough tussle with strong contenders,
Emirates Net has succeeded in winning the project
for the Surveillance system implementation at the
Sharjah based AIL Industries.
About AIL Industries:
AIL started its life as a small jobbing foundry
in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates in 1979 under the
umbrella of Aluminium and Light Industries Company
(ALICO) occupying the same building until 1983.
In 1983, it initiated its expansion by entering
with the field of Cathodic protection as a joint
venture between Impalloy of UnitedKingdom and GIBCA
Group of Companies, one of the largest manufacturing
and trading groups in the United Arab Emirates.

In 1985, the company separated with Aluminium and
Light Industries and the name ALICO Industries Limited
was formed when IMPALLOY relinquished their share
of the company.
As the company grew it started
to broaden its product portfolio. We started the
Cast Aluminium, Brass and Bronze with decorative
design for Gates, Fences, Screens, and Lighting
Fixtures. Since those early days, the company has
become the largest non-ferrous specialist foundry
in the Middle East region.
ALICO was awarded the EN ISO
9001-2000 certification dated December 22, 2003,
for design, manufacture, supply and installation
of cast products in aluminium and alloys for architectural,
lighting, and industrial applications as well as
sacrificial anodes system on aluminium and zinc
alloys for sub-sea structures and vessels for the
offshore and marine industries.
As an addition to its range,
the company has developed and manufactures a series
of Duct Markers and Aluminium Reflective Roads Studs
with a unique BAKLOK reflector and anti-twist shank.
In December 2007, ALICO Industries Company Limited
has changed its name to AIL Industries Company Limited.
In January 2008,AIL have relocated
its offices and foundry to a new 18 000 m purpose
built facility in Industrical Area 13. The new factory
has benefited from major capital invenstment, including
new furnaces and machinery which will enable AIL
to maintain its position as the premiere aluminium
foundry in the Gulf.
